NCC Coasteering Guide Award

NCC Coasteering Guide Award

Challenge

Background
The National Coasteering Charter (NCC) Coasteering Guide Award program has been developed by a community of highly experienced Coasteering Leaders and Technical Experts to create a foundation for all guides and providers. Building on the work of the NCC and the NCC Coasteering Charter, the Guide Award has been developed to create a Nationally recognised qualification that sets the standards for Coasteering Leadership.

Who Is It For
The Award is aimed at Outdoor Adventure Instructors who already lead Coasteering sessions and want further development or wish to gain a National qualification. Its is also ideal for aspirant Coasteering Guides who are at the start of their journey to become experienced and qualified Guides.

With input from a wide range of Coasteering Technical Advisers from all over the UK, the Training and Assessment process created is robust and extremely thorough, in order to prepare Coasteering Guides to be able to deliver successful and safe sessions at a range of venues and in varying conditions.

Trainer/Assessors for the Coasteering Guide Scheme
In each of the 13 NCC UK regions, two Trainer/Assessors have been chosen to deliver Training and Assessment for the NCC Coasteering Guide Award and this group have both worked on the Guide Award and met to ensure consistency and competency at the Trainer/Assessor level. These are the Coasteering Guide Award Qualification Providers.
